IDODI SECONDARY SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTAL CENTRE

EMI - ELIMU MAZINGIRA IDODI

The Idodi Environmental Center is now Open

On the 27th of October 2007,  the  Idodi Environmental Center  was finally opened.  The Honorable  Mr.  William  Likuvi drove  through  the night from Arusha  in order to  join us as our  official guest for the  opening ceremony.  He was very impressed and remarked that the Government offices were not as smart or as well equipped !

We were then seated and entertained by the students with songs and plays.  The Idodi Primary school did a very amusing skit, a re-enactment of the opening ceremony!  A  young 9 year old girl dressed up as myself (Sue), and preceded to give a speech that was not only almost  word for word what I was  going to say in real life but  she also managed to get my habit of “umming” and “arring” along the way, everyone found it  extremely amusing,  especially  myself!

Once the official speeches were over Rob and myself were given gifts amidst lots of applause, everyone  at the  ceremony was then given a sumptuous lunch by the school.

It was a very memorable occasion.
